Security and IP addresses: The above pricing refers to DSL circuits configured in Network Translation mode; 1 usable public IP address is included. An optional range of 5 usable IP addresses is available for $10/month (recommended for firewalls, VPNs).

Network Translation offers an almost total firewall, with peace of mind that your network is secure. Certain individual services can be mapped through the router if desired (such as an FTP site, or mail server), but in general stations are not visible to the Internet - they are configured with non Internet-valid IP addresses, and thus can not be accessed from outside.
